How do I prepare for a phone upgrade?
Please ensure you have a very recent backup to iCloud.
Back up manually

Go to Settings > [your name], and tap iCloud.

Tap iCloud Backup.

Tap Back Up Now. Stay connected to your Wi-Fi network until the process ends. Under Back Up Now, the date and time of your last backup is shown. If you get an alert that you don't have enough iCloud storage space to complete the backup, follow the onscreen steps to buy more iCloud storage.
PLEASE NOTE: IT is not responsible for storage limitations. If you do not have enough storage to backup, your phone will be set up as a new phone and you will lose all data on your existing phone. It is strongly recommended that you make the small investment in iCloud storage to prevent data loss.
