R.A.D. Self Defense

RAD-logoRape Aggression Defense Systems or R.A.D. teaches basic physical self-defense for women. Certified R.A.D. Instructors will be teaching realistic tactics for women to employ as an option for defending themselves in the event of a situation where their life is in jeopardy. The objective of R.A.D. according to its founder, Lawrence N. Nadeau is “to develop and enhance the options of self-defense, so they may become viable considerations to the woman who is attacked.”

The twelve hour class consists of a short lecture, followed by hands on instruction and ends with optional simulations (using protective gear). R.A.D. is offered *at no charge* to any woman in Brunswick County regardless of age (parental consent required for girls under the age of 18). Women who wish to find out more about the R.A.D. program or to find out when the next class will be offered should contact the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Crime Prevention Unit at 910-253-2708.
