BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS
NOTICE TO ALL APPLICANTS
You have received an applicant packet; it consists of three different parts; Blue County Application, State Form F-3, and Applicant Interview Packet. All are to be completed by you in black ink. There are several items that will need to be furnished by you prior to the application being processed. They are as follows:
- BIRTH CERTIFICATE
- N.C. DRIVERS LICENSE
- SOCIAL SECURITY CARD
- DIPLOMA, G.E.D. OR CERTIFIED TRANSCRIPT
- DD214 IF PRIOR MILITARY
- B.L.E.T. AND/OR DETENTION CERTIFICATION (if you have one)
CERTIFIED CRIMINAL HISTORY BACKGROUND CHECKS FROM ALL COUNTIES YOU HAVE LIVED SINCE AGE 16 (These background checks will have to list all past and present names you have used). IF YOU HAVE LIVED OUT OF STATE PARTICULARLY NEW YORK AND/OR MARYLAND, CONTACT CAPT. PHIL PERRY PRIOR TO TURNING IN PACKET.
Failure to produce the above documents will results in the application not being processed!
Make sure that personal and business references have day time phone numbers where they can be reached. Applications will not be processed at night.
If you have ever been involved in any type internal incident, arrest, detainment, or serious traffic offense you will need to make a written statement as to the offense. You are to furnish a copy of the agency incident report and any court documents pertaining to the case.
Hiring process will include an initial interview and a Computer Voice Stress Analysis (CVSA) test. If applicant has been charged as an adult/juvenile with a crime and it has been expunged it will possibly cause you to fail the CVSA test if the operator is not aware of same prior to testing. All applicants will have to pass the CVSA test and the review board to be hired.
